Today I went kickboxing again with James and bonus- he played guitar for me! It was a real pleasure to listen to him play guitar.

He has been playing for 17 years, knowledgeable in many different genres and even showed me how he translates the guitar playing into techno music. (Be sure to check out his music- you can follow his work at soundcloud.com/mrcohnofficial and check out his instagram at mr.cohn) This just blew my mind from the perspective of being a fan of this type of music and getting to see the inner workings it. So cool. I also tried a new fruit that his family likes. It is called feijoa. This sort of reminded me of a mix between a genip and a fig. It is a sweet fruit with juicy flesh. I’ve included a picture for you to see!

It’s sad they had a limited supply because I wanted to eat every single one! I had never even heard of one before and will have to go hunting for some in new Zealand. Next few days were full of work work nonstop work! Let’s get it! (Sometimes I won't write about work if nothing notable happens, but rest assured, I am working here and not just out all the time).
Skipping to April 28th- this was a very special night because my friend from home, Roland Buck III, starred in a Netflix film that came out today! I watched the movie “The Week Of” with Joona and my roommate Noemie who is from France. The movie was hilarious and had some other really big stars in it like Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, and Rachel Dratch.

What an exciting thing to watch your friend on TV, especially with such reputable actors. After the movie Joona and I walked around Crown Casino, which is one block from my apartment. I am so embarrassed to even say this but it was a Saturday night and I just wanted to wear comfortable clothes (didn’t know we’d go into the crown casino on a bustling Saturday night), and I wore socks with sandals and a quick dry towel as a scarf. This was a big no-no. I looked like an insane tourist, and got many looks, rightfully so haha. I definitely want to go back to the casino at some point for a night out because it was packed with people! There are all these glamorous bars, shops and restaurants and a sprawling staircase with a chandelier-like ceiling. I have this fantasy of attending a beautiful reception in that chandelier room. Hey, a girl can dream.
