We started off the day with a free walking tour. A friend of mine I met traveling has said that Sydney is just a hotter London and in some ways I completely agree with him! One of the fun things during the tour that we saw was Martin Place- a financial district of Sydney where the Matrix was filmed! The day was lovely for a walk and then we even got in the Barrack Museum before we got too tired.

The barrack museum was interesting in regards to initial treatment of criminals in Sydney and then the social justice that came afterwards, but overall the barracks in Melbourne is a better choice (ask my sister- I have not done the one in Melbourne unfortunately). Instead of the barracks museum in Sydney I would probably recommend a tour of The Rocks area, which is where convicts lived, gambled, killed and many other crazy things! This tour is meant to be great with stories and enriching facts. I think it is free as well.

Anyways, after the barracks museum we relaxed and regrouped then went to Newtown, a trendy area to eat at Beach Burrito Co.

My famous clinking quote "Cheers to being far from the ones we love but being together now". I cannot tell you how much fun it was having margaritas with the family. We walked around the shops and surprisingly they were open quite late for Australia (9 pm). Many of them were healthy food boutique stores or second hand retro shops. We found a cute book place that had a "blind date with a book" special. Great idea for avid readers!
