This weekend was busy and full of fun. On Saturday morning I had work at Higher Ground and then got home to get a bit of sleep. The coolest part about work today was seeing a woman sketch the cafe all morning. She goes around to all sorts of different cafes in Melbourne, and today she came to us! She was so peaceful sketching, something I wish I was better at doing (yes, both sketching and relaxing)! Here is her work and I encourage you to follow her in her sketch journey around town.

In the evening I went out with Ke and Emma to New Guernica. I’d heard about this club from coworkers and always wanted to see it, so figured this was the best time as any to go. Upon arrival, we immediately met two guys who let us sit with them in their booth. lots of free drinks, loved the music and had a wild night. We got home late as per usual.

The next day was a shift at Higher Ground in the morning. The morning commute walk on a Sunday is so funny in Melbourne because you still see people who are going out. In my weekend “rinse-wash-repeat”, I napped after work and then got ready to go out. I had to take advantage of the amazing Sunday nights out here! First stop was seeing James to catch up on all things music, news and just general life updates. We went to a place near Southbank called Stokers Pancakes. (mind you this was around 10 pm) We each devoured a chocolate peanut butter log with ice cream and shortbread cookie crumbles- check out the size of this thing! The food coma was real.

Afterwards I met up with Bec because she is leaving for a long family trip soon. We started at Pawn & Co where she knows so many of the security, patrons, and bartenders. I feel like I’m out with a celebrity when I’m out with her! We bounced from room to room- her constantly introducing me to friends, which I absolutely loved. One guy in particular I had met before named Dan, who we stayed with for a majority of the rest of the night. I was walking on air, having the time of my life, and then we headed to circus pretty late in the morning (4 am), and let the good times roll at circus night club. Bec and I remarkably made it a point to have some amazing conversations while we were out, making me feel like we had already known each other for a long time since I found so many deep-rooted similarities between her and a bunch of my girl friends at home.

We met some other fabulous girls who were from England, and two brothers named Patrick and Danny from Ireland. Danny and I chatted all morning and found a lot of common themes in our lives. We talked about work, family, travel, future aspirations, and everything else people talk about at a nightclub at 8 in the morning. Hearing about his upbringing and listening to his accent made me think of all the amazing times and people, drinks and music I was surrounded by in that beautiful country of his! With company like Danny and Bec out that night, I couldn't help but feel amped up about life! You never know who you'll meet.
