I went to breakfast with Andrea, a friend of joel’s at Monk Bodhi Dharma, and let me tell you -I got something called an acai bowl. My first one ever!

This super sexy concoction of a meal had: organic acai with banana, berries, maca, mesquite, lucuma, almond milk. Served with house made granola, fresh seasonal fruit & coconut probiotic. Maca, Mesquite, Lucuma? Who knows what they are but damn it was tasty. Andrea is an impressive powerhouse woman who is big in the Jewish world here and has been all over the world doing philanthropic work and I am very excited to get to know her during my time here! I'm happy we are close in age. In the early evening I went to Brighton with Joona. Brighton is the area with all of those colored sunbathing boxes that apparently are very expensive to rent/buy. I was not wearing proper clothes for the beach but we made do! Brighton is an interesting town, it doesn’t have much of a traveler vide at all, just a lot of residential houses. Not what I expected but kind of cool to still see a touristy spot be in a non-touristy neighborhood… if that makes any sense. It had a good chill vibe, and I liked seeing the cute houses and seeing people pose in front of them.

Afterwards we headed back to St. Kilda for some dinner! Always a must. The next day in the morning I met up with a friend named Etienne, who is from France, at a park near Caulfield. There were lots of families and little kids running around, two sisters even came up to us and sang us the four questions (it was a day before first passover seder). It was so cute! I admire that Etienne has a lust for travel (he studied abroad in two different continents), and is a very open-minded, fun guy. I've been meeting a lot of french people here so I definitely need to get some french in my vocabulary! It's the perfect way to learn- through friends! After way too much sun at the park, tonight I trialed at a bar in the CBD (central business district) called La Di Da which functions as a bar/restaurant on the weekdays and a nightclub on the weekends. I really enjoyed it and look forward to working the nightclub which I heard is just a totally different feel. More updates to come on this!
