March 9 - First Day in Melbourne

In the morning we ran some errands and then went to this huge mall called Chadstone. The malls here are gorgeous, and I was SO glad I found a curling wand- took forever to find the right one.

We came back to Joel's to help get ready for Shabbat. There were 12 of us for dinner! It smelled and tasted delicious, but the best part was feeling included in a shabbat across the globe. We rushed out the door around 10 pm, stuffed and happy, to go to the airport to pick up a few of the international dj’s. They were from all over – Chile, Belgium, Israel, and the list goes on. We had a super long drive to Donald, Victoria where the music festival Esoteric was happening. I’m excited to hear these dj’s play.... it’s such a hidden talent that you can’t tell about someone just by looking! Anyways, they call these camping music festivals ‘Doofs’ here. Such a funny name. It's my first camping festival and the weather forecast is hot hot hot. (I brought 1 Liter of sunscreen just for the weekend because I got terribly burnt in Sydney last week.) We got in at 4 in the morning, greeted by a glow-in-the-dark spider web forest, and got in as much sleep as we could before the festivities.
