This afternoon I had probably one of the best smoothies of my entire life. It was a matcha smoothie. The ingredients were stoneground matcha, ginger, dates, spinach, chia and coconut. I could not resist. Also, matcha is a very intriguing ingredient. Right? Kinfolk, where I had the smoothie, is a charity café in the heart of the Melbourne business district. All of the staff, chefs, hosts and baristas are volunteers and the profits of the café are allocated to various charities and they host community gatherings and events as well. I was so moved by this café, how much character it had, and seeing all the unique dishes and drinks they concocted that I even left a little note for the café to show my appreciation. Working in hospitality, it is so easy to feel under-appreciated. To see this thriving café making our society better, I wanted the volunteers to know that they were making a difference. Imagine if you were at work and received a letter like this. Our world would be a better place I reckon.

Tonight I went with Adam to Tokosan, an amazing Japanese restaurant near Chapel Street. We talked about what it was like to live away from home (because he has done lots of travel and work abroad as well). We dined like royalty!

Afterwards we went to meet up with Simon and his friends in St. Kilda. I love introducing friends to one another.
